Our History Extends beyond Blue Phoenix Mechanical
After starting a construction clean up company, Derwin continued going to school at the fairly new “The Refrigeration School” in the early ’70’s. After he graduated he put off working in the air conditioning business because it scared him. So in ’73 he started a car stereo business which he had for four years. After he got married he decided to put his education to work for him by doing work for “Uncle Reeve” at his dairy. He worked on the refrigeration for the delivery trucks, the vacuum system for the milking machines and the pumps for the milk and water lines.
While doing this he built up his customer base from the customers he knew from his clean up service and his stereo company. After a year or so he got too busy to work at the dairy so he went full time in his company Kool Knight-Air.
For many years Derwin was a one man show. Repairing and replacing air conditioning units through out the valley. His fair pricing, prompt service and ability to fix the problem right the first time helped him build a loyal customer base which we still serve today.
Ryan grew up in the air conditioning business working for his father, Derwin every summer since he was 4 years old. After Ryan graduated refrigeration school, him and his dad continued to work together performing jobs from residential custom homes, gas stations and retail stores while continuing to maintain the repair and service.
In February of 2007 Derwin and Ryan joined forces with Rand who owned his own air conditioning business at the time. By having the expertise of all three parties, they were all able to pull their knowledge and resources together so they would be able to offer their customers more services and to be able to continue the customer service they were known for. By joining forces together, Blue Phoenix Mechanical set out to offer a higher degree of customer satisfaction while still offering the trust and confidence that our customers had learned to appreciate in years past.
